I quit my 9-5 job back in 2007 to start a business from home. I couldn’t stand it anymore…the daily grind, the office politics. Going to the same building every single day and wondering whether I’d be stuck in that room for the next 30 years. I hated that I was spending the bulk of my days working my ass of to make someone ELSE money. I hated that no matter how good an employee I was, no job is ever secure and I could be let go at any time. Most of all, I literally despised the fact that I was spending 5 out of every 7 days doing something I absolutely hated. Seriously…I just couldn’t stand it anymore.
So I spent three years researching and trying to find a way to quit my job and figure out how to start a business from home. I ended up selling on Ebay for 8 years and I was fairly successful at that. It got me started at being my own boss, setting my own hours, managing my income taxes, having the self discipline to work for myself…all the stuff that comes with starting a business from home. But doing Ebay was hard. I was working way too many hours.
Then, in 2015, I got training to become an affiliate marketer and I’ve been doing that ever since. I now have several websites that earn money, I recently started two YouTube channels to go with those websites, and I’m absolutely loving what I do every day. I get to promote products and services having to do with topics I’m actually passionate about, and that makes my job fun. Yep, that’s what I said…my job is actually FUN.
So I’ve had a ton of training, created a lot of websites, started two YouTube channels, and I work at home online in my pajamas. So I think I’m qualified to give you good advice on how to start a business from home. 🙂
Starting a business at home is something you need training for, obviously. I got my training from a company called, Wealthy Affiliate. They teach people how to work at home online and make money. They’re the ones who taught me, step-by-step how to build the websites I have, how to become an affiliate (rep) for products and services I wanted to sell, and how to get customers to my websites to buy those products and services. That’s a pretty simplified explanation of what they do, but that’s it in a nutshell. Wealthy Affiliate bases their training on 4 simple steps to starting a business at home:
Step 1. Choose a topic (this should be something you like/LOVE).
Step 2. Create a website.
Step 3. Drive traffic to your website.
Step 4. Earn revenue/commissions.
It really is that simple. Their training consists of step-by-step videos that teach you how to accomplish these 4 steps.

- They have the classrooms where I can type in a question and receive several answers within minutes.
