Choosing the right keywords is crucial if you want to be successful in your marketing efforts. No matter what your website’s topic, you have to use keywords that will produce relevant, quality traffic. Finding these keywords requires that you not only learn how to do proper keyword research, but that you get good at it. And the SEMrush Keyword Overview Report is the perfect way to start. You can find out the search volume and competition for keywords easily and quickly with SEMrush. You can also assess the organic and paid competition level for the top 95 million keywords. You’ll also be able to see which domains are currently ranking for any given keyword.
One of my favorite features of SEMrush is that it offers me alternative keywords related to any given search term. Sometimes, no matter how much I brainstorm, I come up blank when searching for keywords. The alternate keywords SEMrush gives me are often better than what I came up with. I end up finding keywords that can do a much better job of driving the right traffic to my website. As I’m sure you know, we need to be able to judge how a keyword performs if we want to have successful organic marketing campaigns, as well as successful paid marketing campaigns. SEMrush shows you the approximate cost per click, advertising competition level, monthly search volume and the total number of results returned by the search engine for the given query. You’ll also find CPC distribution.
SEMrush shows you the keyword’s volume activity. The number displayed represents average monthly numbers, which is important to keep in mind when performing keyword research. In addition to knowing how a keyword performs, you also need to know how difficult it will be to rank for that keyword. SEMrush has a competition metric that will explain how hard it is to rank for any given keyword.
SEMrush makes it fast and easy. In SEMrush, there’s no need to search through multiple pages to get a clear picture of the market and who currently ranks for the keyword you’re researching in both organic and paid results. SEMrush shows you exactly which domains rank for the keyword and in which position on the SERP. This is critical, as I’m sure you realize, because if you notice a number of authoritative websites holding high rankings for a certain keyword, or if you see several advertisers bidding on a certain keyword, then you may decide not to use that keyword. Getting ranked for keywords with the highest search volume can be extremely difficult. Therefore, it’s helpful (necessary!) to know this ahead of time so you can use alternative keywords. This will make it easier to see results from your efforts.
Conducting your keyword research with tools like SEMrush is an absolute necessity. It is, without a doubt, the biggest difference between success and failure when it comes to internet marketing. Unless you’re willing to do the digging, you may not find those hidden gems that can yield fantastic results!
